MD Placement

The right provider for the clinic that can't afford an empty week.

MD Placement recruits physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants for rural clinics and community health centers across the country, for a few weeks of coverage or for good.

Week two

Your provider is out for a week. Patients are still booked.

Two ways we staff your clinic

Small practices don't have a recruiting department. We act as yours, whether you need someone Monday or someone for the next ten years.

Locum tenens

Temporary coverage, from a few days to several months

When a provider is on leave, a position is vacant, or the season brings more patients than your team can see, we place a credentialed clinician who can step in and keep your schedule open.

  • Vacation, medical and parental leave coverage
  • Bridge coverage while you search for a permanent hire
  • Seasonal and surge staffing
  • Weekend, call and part-time schedules

Permanent placement

A long-term hire who fits your community

We find, screen and present candidates who want what your clinic offers, then help you through interviews, site visits and the offer, so the person who signs is the person who stays.

  • Physician and advanced practice searches
  • Candidates screened for fit, not just credentials
  • Help with interviews, site visits and offers
  • Rural, FQHC and underserved community searches

Who we place

Physicians and midlevel providers across primary care and the specialties small clinics rely on.

Physicians (MD and DO)

  • Family medicine
  • Internal medicine
  • Pediatrics
  • OB/GYN
  • Emergency medicine
  • Urgent care
  • Hospitalist
  • Psychiatry
  • General surgery
  • Anesthesiology

Advanced practice providers

  • Nurse practitioners
  • Physician assistants
  • CRNAs
  • Certified nurse midwives
  • Psychiatric NPs
  • Acute care NPs

Don't see your specialty? Ask. If we can recruit for it, we'll tell you plainly, and if we can't, we'll tell you that too.

How a placement works

One recruiter works your search from the first call to the provider's first day.

  1. Tell us the need

Specialty, dates or start date, schedule, patient volume, and what makes your clinic different.

  2. We recruit and screen

We reach out to qualified providers, check licensure and references, and talk with each one about fit.

  3. You choose

You review a short list of candidates and interview the ones you like. You make the call.

  4. They start

We coordinate the details up to day one and stay in touch after, for the length of the assignment or the first months of a hire.

A family company, back in business

My father, John Arrambide, built MD Placement and ran it from 2014 to 2018, helping small clinics find the doctors their communities depended on.

I worked alongside him placing physicians and midlevel providers in locum and permanent positions at clinics across the country. I saw how much a single hire matters to a small practice: one provider can be the difference between a town having a doctor and patients driving an hour to see one.

Now we're bringing MD Placement back together, with the same approach he built it on. You talk to the people doing your search, you get honest answers about what's realistic, and we don't send candidates who aren't right for you.

New graduate? Most recruiters won't call you back. We will.

Placing new graduates is where we built our name. We work with rural clinics and federally qualified health centers that hire providers straight out of training, and many of them offer student loan repayment.

Seasoned provider looking for locum work or a change of scenery? Upload your CV and tell us what you're after. We'll start looking for openings that fit.

We only share your information with a clinic after you've agreed to it.
